Asake’s departure from YBNL Nation has been confirmed after much speculation. The release of his song “Why Love” under his own label, Giran Republic, is a clear sign that he’s now stepping out independently.
It’s interesting that despite leaving YBNL, he paid tribute to Olamide in his earlier song, “Military,” which seems to show that their relationship remains respectful. The fact that Asake still maintains his distribution deal with Empire, which he signed in 2022, suggests he’s not slowing down and is continuing to build on his success.
