On August 9, 2024, Asake released his highly anticipated third album, Lungu Boy, featuring collaborations with major artists like Wizkid, Central Cee, Stormzy, Travis Scott, and Ludmila.

Asake’s Lungu Boy made a significant impact in the Billboard Afrobeats Songs chart during the week of August 24, 2024, with nine tracks from the album making the list. Notably, his collaboration with Travis Scott, “Active,” ascended to No. 1, while “MMS” featuring Wizkid debuted at No. 7. Other tracks from the album include “Mood” at No. 12, “Fuji Vibes” at No. 14, “Suru” featuring Stormzy at No. 16, “Worldwide” at No. 18, “Mentally” at No. 20, “Skating” at No. 22, “I Swear” at No. 25, and “Ligali” at No. 25.

With these nine new entries, Asake has achieved a landmark 50th entry on the Billboard Afrobeats Songs Chart, surpassing Burna Boy and becoming the artist with the most entries in the chart’s history.

Lungu Boy has also achieved impressive commercial success on other platforms, tying the record for the highest-charting Nigerian album on Apple Music US with Burna Boy’s I Told Them and Davido’s Timeless. Additionally, it reached No. 1 on the Apple Music UK Chart, marking it as Asake’s third album to do so, following his debut Mr. Money With The Vibe and sophomore album Work of Art.

Asake’s consistent output and success over the past three years have solidified his status as a defining superstar of the era.
