Following the release of his third album, Lungu Boy, Asake launched a world tour, headlining prominent venues, including the iconic O2 Arena.
During his remarkable concert at the O2 Arena, Asake captivated fans with performances of his hit singles, showcasing tracks from his latest album. Notable attendees included Grammy winner Wizkid and actor Idris Elba, who presented Asake with a sold-out plaque and a BRIT silver plaque for his album Work of Art.
With this achievement of selling out the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena, Asake joins fellow Nigerian Afrobeats stars Davido and Wizkid, who have each sold out the venue multiple times. Asake first sold out the O2 in 2023, following the release of his sophomore album, Work of Art, marking a significant milestone in his global ascent.
The O2 Arena has played a crucial role in highlighting the global rise of Afrobeats, with Davido making history in 2018 as the first Nigerian solo act to headline the venue. Wizkid also headlined as a solo act in 2019 and returned for an unprecedented three consecutive nights in 2021.
