Ogeibiri Orubebemi Enkumor, the former Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, has strongly criticized the party’s announcement regarding the indefinite suspension of Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), and Chief David Lyon, a former governorship candidate, among others. The suspensions were reportedly issued for alleged anti-party activities in Ekeremor and Southern Ijaw Local Government Areas.

In a statement released on Friday, Enkumor labeled the suspensions as “entirely null and void,” asserting that they stem from a “sheer ignorance” on the part of those responsible for the decision. He expressed concern over the implications of such actions for party unity and the overall political landscape in the state.

Enkumor’s statement highlights the internal conflicts within the APC, particularly in the context of upcoming elections and the need for cohesion among party members. His condemnation suggests a call for dialogue and understanding among party stakeholders to address grievances rather than resorting to suspensions that may further fracture the party’s unity.
