Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed strong confidence on Thursday that the party will secure a victory in the upcoming Edo governorship election scheduled for September 21.
During a meeting with the leadership of the Kano State Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ, Ganduje highlighted that the APC has put significant political machinery in place to ensure a landslide win for its candidate.
Ganduje stated, “Our campaign is in high spirits, and we are well-prepared for the election. We are confident that we will recover Edo State, which was previously an APC stronghold but was lost to the PDP due to internal issues.”
He also mentioned ongoing preparations for the governorship election in Ondo State, noting that the APC has resolved past issues and successfully conducted primaries to select their candidate.
Looking ahead, Ganduje revealed the party’s strategy for next year, aiming to capture Anambra State, which has been governed by the APGA for many years. He argued that despite claims of marginalization by various regions, the APC is committed to expanding its influence across the country.
“We are working hard to ensure that we capture more states from the South-East geopolitical zone,” Ganduje said. “Starting with Anambra, we aim to increase our presence in the region, following our successes in Ebonyi and Imo States.”
Ganduje concluded, “If we achieve our goals, we will significantly strengthen our position by capturing more states across Nigeria.”
