Yusuf Abdulateef, a prominent APC chieftain in Ondo State’s Odigbo council area, has defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing the hardships faced under the APC-led government. Despite efforts by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to retain him in the APC, Abdulateef stated that pressure from his followers and the struggles of farmers over land issues prompted his decision.
He revealed that over 12,000 of his followers have joined him in the switch to the PDP, with more defections anticipated from other regions. Abdulateef praised the leadership of Agboola Ajayi, the incoming governor, for his integrity and service during his tenure as deputy governor.
