“Angela Okorie Criticizes Zubby Michael for Publicizing Donation to Late Colleague’s Family”
Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has expressed her disapproval of fellow actor Zubby Michael’s decision to publicize his donation to the family of their late colleague, Junior Pope. A video capturing Michael’s donation to Junior Pope’s widow, Jennifer Awele, and their children has circulated widely on social media.
Okorie took to her Instagram story to criticize Michael for showcasing his donation “on camera.” She emphasized that the burial of a young person is not an appropriate occasion to flaunt wealth.
In her Instagram post, Okorie wrote, “Zubby, a young person has died, and that display of money wasn’t necessary. But as the local boy that you are, you lack sense. You don’t know when to show off and when to act appropriately. Do you have more money than all the dignitaries present? Fool.”
Junior Pope passed away on April 10, 2024, along with three others, after their boat capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a film location. He was laid to rest in his hometown of Ukehe in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, last Friday.
