Senator Abdulaziz Yari (APC-Zamfara West) has been commended by the Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for his substantial contributions to the party and the community amid ongoing economic difficulties.
In a letter of appreciation to APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, State APC Chairman Tukur Danfulani highlighted Yari’s recent generous actions. These include the donation of 44 Highlander Jeeps to support party leaders at both state and local levels, and the furnishing of the state APC Secretariat with over ₦400 million.
The letter detailed several of Yari’s contributions between September 2023 and September 2024. These included:
- Maize Donations: 145 trailer loads of maize were distributed free of charge to party members and residents in September 2023.
- Eid-El-Fitr Assistance: During the 2024 Eid-El-Fitr celebration, Yari provided 358 trailer loads of rice, sugar, millet, maize, and guinea corn, as well as 340 cows, to party executives and beneficiaries.
- Eid-El-Kabir Celebration: 28 trailer loads of rice were donated for the Eid-El-Kabir festival.
- Fertiliser Provision: 75 trailer loads of fertiliser were sold to farmers at a 50% discount.
- Flood Relief: Following recent floods in Gummi Local Government Area, Yari contributed five trailer loads each of rice, maize, and millet, along with 10,000 mattresses and 10,000 blankets. He has also started rebuilding over 5,000 houses for displaced victims.
- Maize Distribution: On September 4, 2024, Yari donated 200 trailer loads of maize to help alleviate current economic hardships.
Danfulani’s letter expressed the party’s deep gratitude for Yari’s unwavering support and his efforts to ease the suffering of less-privileged families in the state.
