Las Vegas Aces center A’Ja Wilson has been awarded the 2024 WNBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) title, becoming the first player since Cynthia Cooper in 1997 to receive a unanimous vote. Wilson garnered all 67 first-place votes, accumulating a total of 670 points in the voting.
This marks Wilson’s third MVP award, adding to her previous titles won in 2020 and 2022. She joins an elite group of only three players in WNBA history—alongside Lisa Leslie, Lauren Jackson, and Sheryl Swoopes—to achieve this honor.
In her seventh WNBA season, Wilson played 38 games and showcased her remarkable skills by averaging 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.58 blocked shots, and 1.79 steals per game over 34.4 minutes of play. Her performance led the league in points and blocks while also setting career highs in all five statistical categories.
Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx and Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty finished second and third in the MVP voting, with 467 and 295 points, respectively. Caitlin Clark, the standout guard from the Indiana Fever, secured fourth place with 130 points after an impressive rookie season.
Wilson’s achievement highlights her dominance on the court and solidifies her status as one of the league’s all-time greats.
