The Association of Ibusa Professional Women (AIPROW) recently brought relief to the residents of Ibusa, Oshimili North LGA, Delta State, through their annual medical outreach in collaboration with Ibusa Association USA Inc. Held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, the event drew participants from all walks of life, including the elderly, men, women, teens, and children, many of whom braved the heavy downpour to receive vital medical services.
AIPROW President, Mrs. Elizabeth Idigbe, who is also the Managing Partner of Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, led the outreach, which featured full medical checkups, eye screenings, and the provision of reading glasses. Other services included the diagnosis and treatment of malaria, arthritis, and glaucoma, alongside screenings for cervical, prostate, and breast cancer.
Mrs. Idigbe emphasized that, while the government cannot address every need, AIPROW has taken it upon itself to contribute meaningfully to society. Despite her involvement in other philanthropic efforts through the Punuka Foundation, she found this medical outreach particularly rewarding, as it directly impacted her community.
In addition to healthcare services, AIPROW also organized a career and mentoring session for students at Ibusa Girls’ Secondary School, providing guidance and inspiration to the next generation. Founded in 2012, AIPROW includes a range of professionals, including lawyers, doctors, pharmacists, teachers, and more, who work collectively to give back to their community.
