The global rise of Afrobeats has led to Nigerian artists increasingly being featured on the soundtracks of popular video games and movies. This trend highlights the genre’s expanding influence and international appeal.

Recent examples include Nigerian artists Rema, Shallipopi, Omah Lay, and Obong Jayer, who are featured on the soundtrack for the 32nd installment of the popular video game series, EA FC25. Their inclusion continues the tradition of Afrobeats representation in major video game soundtracks.

In previous years, Afrobeats artists have also made significant appearances. For instance:

  • Pheelz and BNXN featured their hit record Finesse on the FIFA 23 soundtrack.
  • Olamide and BadBoy Timz with Skelele, and Seun Kuti & Black Thought with Kuku Kee Me also appeared on the same soundtrack.
  • Fireboy’s Party Scatter was part of the FIFA 2021 edition.
  • Nneka’s Kangpe feat Wesley Williams was included in the FIFA 2010 soundtrack.

Other notable international artists on the EA FC25 soundtrack alongside the Afrobeats stars include Asap Rocky, Ice Spice, Billie Eilish, Anderson Paak, and Twenty One Pilots. This reflects Afrobeats’ growing global footprint and its integration into diverse musical and entertainment platforms.
