AFAM OSIGWE OFFICIALLY BECOMES 32ND NBA PRESIDENT

Afam Osigwe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has been inaugurated as the 32nd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). The swearing-in ceremony took place in Lagos on Thursday, August 29, 2024, concluding the NBA’s week-long annual general conference.

Osigwe succeeds Yakubu Maikyau, SAN, and will serve as NBA President for the next two years, along with other newly elected national officers. In his inaugural speech, Osigwe praised his election opponents, Tobenna Erojikwe and Chukwuka Ikwazom, SAN, for their professionalism during the election, inviting them to collaborate in advancing the association’s goals.

As the new NBA President, Osigwe emphasized his commitment to fostering an inclusive, united association focused on progress. He assured members that the NBA under his leadership would hold federal and state governments accountable, ensuring their policies promote good governance.
