Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed strong criticism towards President Bola Tinubu regarding the current economic situation in Nigeria. In a recent interview with AIT, Nwosu highlighted the dire state of the nation, lamenting that many Nigerians are suffering and dying from hunger, with mortuaries reportedly overflowing with deceased individuals due to economic hardship.
Nwosu emphasized that the ongoing protests, which began on August 1, are a direct response to the escalating cost of living and the economic policies of the current administration. He urged President Tinubu to listen to the protesters and address their grievances urgently.
The ADC chairman criticized the administration’s handling of the protests and economic challenges, arguing that the funds used to suppress protests and manage palliatives could have been better spent on addressing the root causes of hunger and economic distress. Nwosu called for a shift towards proactive leadership, suggesting that a more effective and empathetic approach to governance could alleviate the widespread suffering and prevent further loss of life.
Nwosu’s remarks reflect growing frustration with the administration’s response to the economic crisis and underscore the urgent need for policy changes to address the country’s mounting challenges.
