The race for the position of Accountant-General of the Federation is progressing, with ten out of fifteen candidates successfully passing the written examination. This announcement was made by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. These ten candidates will now proceed to the next stage, which is the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test, scheduled for February 13, 2025.

The written examination assessed key areas such as public financial management, auditing, and fiscal policy, ensuring that only those who meet the highest standards of competence move forward. The rigorous process is in line with the government’s goal of improving accountability, transparency, and efficiency in managing public finances.

Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, expressed confidence in the selection process, emphasizing the importance of appointing skilled professionals who can maintain integrity and excellence in financial management. The position of Accountant-General will be vacant after the current tenure of Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein ends on March 7, 2025.
