Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has called on Labour Party (LP) supporters in Edo State to safeguard their votes in the upcoming September 21 governorship election. During campaign rallies in Benin alongside LP candidate Olumide Akpata, Otti emphasized the importance of vigilance at polling units to prevent vote tampering. He shared his experience from Abia, where supporters stayed awake for days to ensure their votes were not stolen.
Otti expressed confidence in Akpata and his running mate, Yusuf Kadiri, calling them the best team to lead Edo. He urged young voters to follow the results from polling units to collation centers, mirroring the strategies that led to LP’s success in Abia.
Senator Darlington Nwokocha, Secretary to the LP Caretaker Committee, highlighted that Edo could benefit from the LP’s governance model, promising that the party would bring positive change to the state if elected.
Akpata reassured supporters of LP’s commitment to a peaceful election and the protection of their votes. The campaign team visited key locations in Benin, including Evbareke Spare Parts Market and Mission Road.
