Governor Alex Otti has announced the approval of a N70,000 minimum wage for workers in Abia State, effective from the end of October.
During a press briefing following this week’s Executive Council meeting in Umuahia, Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, conveyed the Governor’s commitment to supporting workers.
“The payment of the minimum wage will commence in the next few days. The Governor has approved that,” Kanu stated, highlighting Otti’s empathy for the workforce.
