PDP National Secretary Calls for Flyover Construction at IMSU Junction After Fatal Accident

In response to a tragic motor accident at the Imo State University (IMSU) Junction that claimed more than ten lives, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary of the People Democratic Party (PDP), has advocated for the construction of a flyover at the junction to manage traffic.

Anyanwu, speaking through his media aide, Ikenna Onuoha, emphasized the urgent need for a flyover or standard roundabout at the IMSU Junction to prevent further accidents. He lamented that the junction had been a frequent site of accidents over the past five years, attributing the recurring incidents to the government’s failure to implement lasting solutions to the traffic challenges in the area.

The PDP National Secretary criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in the state for what he described as a lack of proactive measures and concern for citizen welfare. He stressed that prioritizing the well-being of citizens should be the government’s primary focus, urging immediate action to address the traffic congestion at IMSU Junction.

Anyanwu highlighted the significance of the junction, particularly for students and lecturers who rely on it for transportation. He urged the state government to allocate resources towards resolving the traffic issues instead of investing in projects of lesser importance.

Expressing condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic accident, Anyanwu prayed for strength and solace for those affected by the irreparable loss of lives and properties.
