Each airline has its own limits on the size of luggage you can take on board. It is worth checking before the trip – before we start packing – whether we can take a suitcase or two, or maybe just a backpack, included in the price.

What about medicines and cosmetics? This is not always obvious.

Liquids such as shampoos, creams and deodorants must be placed in containers with a capacity of no more than 100 ml. They must also be prepared in a transparent, closed packaging. To make it easier and faster to pass through security, it is worth preparing your cosmetics in a convenient place – most airports in the world still require the services to scan your cosmetic bag.

Interestingly, essential medicines can be transported in volumes larger than 100 ml. However, such a situation should be reported during the inspection. The situation is similar when parents need to transport, for example, food for a child.

We will not bring sharp objects on board, including knives, scissors or razor blades, but – what may surprise many – a pre-packaged disposable razor will be allowed.

Some airlines have restrictions on carrying chargers with lithium-ion batteries for safety reasons. For this reason, airlines also prohibit carriage on board.

Many airlines prohibit the use of laptops while travelling. Phones and tablets must remain in airplane mode. Electronics should be – just like cosmetics – easily accessible during security checks.
