Getafe President confirms Greenwood not in Man Utd plans, amidst Barca interest
Getafe President Ángel Torres has confirmed that Manchester United have no room for Mason Greenwood, and are open to sell.
Torres hopes Greenwood would stay at Getafe, even as his loan spell from Manchester United nears its end.
“If it was up to the lad and his relatives, he’d continue [at Getafe],” Torres revealed on Radio Marca.
“Apparently, Manchester United want to sell him, but I think he’ll stay [at Getafe].” he added.
While Juventus and Atletico Madrid have been rumoured as potential suitors for the English winger, Torres disclosed that only Barcelona have reached out to him regarding the player’s situation.
“Atletico Madrid didn’t ask for him. The only ones were [Barcelona’s] Deco and Laporta when they came here,” Torres stated.
“I spoke to Deco, and they [Barcelona] asked about him because they like the player.”
However, despite Torres’ claims, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on X that Barcelona have no interest in Greenwood and have already dismissed the possibility of pursuing a deal.
