Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has voiced his displeasure over the club’s decision to let Scott McTominay leave for Napoli last summer. McTominay, who joined the Italian side for £25m, has been in impressive form, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 27 appearances. His performances have helped Napoli rise to second place in Serie A, making him a key figure under manager Antonio Conte.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has struggled, sitting 14th in the Premier League and crashing out of the FA Cup on penalties to Fulham. Solskjaer expressed his frustration, telling The Athletic that he felt McTominay’s departure was a mistake, given his contribution to the team, particularly his goalscoring ability and understanding of the club’s culture.

While Solskjaer also expressed satisfaction seeing former players like Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire performing well, he lamented McTominay’s exit, emphasizing that he had been an important player for the team in the previous season. During his time at United, McTominay played 115 matches under Solskjaer, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists.
