The ongoing conflict in Ukraine, particularly in regions like Donetsk, continues to evolve. Russia’s Defence Ministry recently claimed control over several villages in Donetsk, including Nadiivka, Novosilka, and Novoocheretuvate. These territorial gains, though slow, mark continued Russian efforts to consolidate its hold on the region, despite international condemnation.

Donetsk has been a focal point of the conflict for years, with parts of the region under Russian proxy control since 2014. In 2022, Russia declared the region, along with three other Ukrainian areas, as part of its territory, despite not fully controlling them. This move was widely rejected as illegal by the global community.

At the same time, Russia is engaged in ongoing discussions with the United States, which include talks about ending the war, but the situation on the ground remains tense with both sides continuing military actions.
