Alhaji Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), recently dismissed the political influence of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), asserting that the organization lacks the power to prevent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from winning a significant share of the Northern votes in the 2027 election. His comments were in response to criticisms from ACF members, including former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, who opposed remarks made by APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje. Ganduje had suggested that the North should focus on reclaiming power only after 2031.
Kwankwaso expressed strong support for Ganduje’s position, highlighting President Tinubu’s commitment to national development, particularly in the North, through large-scale infrastructure projects and policies. He emphasized ongoing developments like the Northwest Development Commission and the ₦150 billion Kano city railway line, calling them evidence of Tinubu’s dedication to improving Northern Nigeria. According to Kwankwaso, these initiatives will contribute to a solid foundation for Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.
With these projects in mind, Kwankwaso is confident that President Tinubu will secure a second term in office, citing them as a clear indication of Tinubu’s positive impact on the country and his strong positioning for the upcoming election.
