The Kano State High Court has set a new date of April 15, 2025, for the hearing of all pending preliminary objections in the corruption case involving the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, his wife, Hafsat Umar, and six others. The case, brought by the Kano State Government, involves charges of bribery, misappropriation, and the diversion of billions of naira in public funds.
During a recent hearing, the prosecution indicated readiness to proceed but requested an extension to regularize their preliminary objections. Several defense counsels also sought additional time to file required documents. The presiding judge, Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu, granted the extensions and adjourned the matter to April 15, when all preliminary objections will be addressed before moving to the main trial. The case has attracted significant public interest due to its high-profile nature and the serious charges against the defendants.
