Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez and his wife, Valentina Cervantes, have confirmed their separation, revealing personal challenges that have led them to reassess their relationship.
In an emotional Instagram story, Cervantes shared, “Enzo and I have decided to take some distance from each other today.” She emphasized their commitment to co-parenting their two young children, stating, “But we will always be family, and we will support each other in everything. Because there are two children involved who need a lot of love from us.”
Cervantes expressed admiration for Fernandez, recognizing his character and parenting abilities. “I know the person Enzo is and what an excellent father he is, as well as the heart he has. And that is enough for me. Please don’t try to create conflicts where there are none,” she added, highlighting their mutual respect despite their separation.
Reports from Argentine media suggest that Fernandez has expressed a desire to live independently, wanting to explore life stages he may have missed due to early family commitments.
On the pitch, Fernandez has faced a challenging season following his record-breaking £105 million transfer from Benfica to Chelsea in January 2023. Initially part of the leadership group and serving as captain in several matches, he has recently lost his starting position to teammate Romeo Lavia.
