Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has shared insights into the struggles and successes she has experienced on her journey as a mother and a career woman. In a recent interview on the **Big Friday Show**, the Afrobeats singer discussed the challenges of balancing her career with single motherhood.
Tiwa emphasized the importance of her support system, particularly her mother and a long-time nanny, in raising her son, Jamil. She stated, “It takes a village to raise my son as a single mum. I always need my mum. I call on my mum; she’s very instrumental, and we have a nanny who has been with us since he was three months old, and he’s nine now, so she has been with us for nine years.”
Additionally, she acknowledged the role of her son’s godmother, who assists her when she is away for work. Tiwa praised women for their ability to juggle multiple roles, referring to it as their “superpower.” She shared that her mother continues to care for her deeply, despite her own status as a mother. “I look at my mum, and she still mothers me at this age. She still calls to ask if I’ve eaten and tells me to drink lots of water and rest. When she sees things online, she still worries about me at my big age. Our jobs don’t end,” she said.
The singer-songwriter is set to release her highly anticipated single “Forgiveness” on Friday, further showcasing her talent and resilience in the music industry.
