The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has issued a warning against fraudulent schemes related to admission processes, clarifying that it does not offer “discretionary admission opportunities.” In a statement released by the Head of the Communication Unit, Alhaja Ajoke Alaga Ibrahim, the university emphasized that all admissions are conducted strictly through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and urged prospective students to avoid falling victim to scams.

UNILAG stated that it has not authorized any unofficial groups or individuals to facilitate admissions, including through social media platforms. The university firmly rejected any claims of special consideration or admission opportunities that involve payments or connections with admission officials, labeling such practices as illegal and fraudulent.

The university also cautioned that both parties involved in these illicit activities could face legal repercussions. They encouraged the public to report any suspicious admission offers to their official email addresses and reminded everyone to rely solely on the university’s official website for accurate information regarding admissions and services.
