Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, known as Falz, has issued a strong warning to social media critic VeryDarkMan, indicating that he will face repercussions for his actions in a legal dispute stemming from a leaked audio recording involving crossdresser Bobrisky.

The controversy erupted after Bobrisky claimed in the leaked audio that Falz and his father, renowned lawyer Femi Falana, contacted him while he was imprisoned at Kirikiri Correctional Centre to help him secure a presidential pardon. The audio was shared on social media by VeryDarkMan, generating significant reactions and discussions online.

In response, Falz filed a lawsuit, clarifying that it was Bobrisky who had initially reached out to him seeking financial assistance. During an interview on the Afro Beats podcast, Falz publicly addressed the issue for the first time. He accused VeryDarkMan of spreading false information without providing any evidence to support his claims.

Falz expressed frustration over VeryDarkMan’s refusal to issue a public apology, warning him that he would “give him the trouble he is looking for.” He recounted their interaction, stating:

“When I reached out to him over the audio, this guy was instantly defensive from the beginning; I’m like, bro, try and listen. What are you instantly fighting about?”

He further quoted VeryDarkMan’s response, which dismissed the matter, saying, “shebi you are a lawyer, you can go to court.” Falz highlighted the serious nature of defamation, mentioning the potential criminal implications, but chose not to pursue that route at this time.

“I will have him know that there is a criminal angle to defamation, but I chose not to go that way. He could have been arrested because what you posted is absolutely false, and I need you to take it down and tender an apology within a certain amount of time. And what did he do? Nothing.”

Falz’s strong stance signals his commitment to defending his reputation amid the ongoing dispute.
