Capt. Chris Najomo, Acting Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), announced that the Federal Government is committed to enhancing passenger experiences through inclusive regulatory practices. This declaration was made during his opening remarks at the North-Central Regional Air Transportation Summit 2024 held in Abuja on Wednesday.

Represented by Capt. Donald Spiff, NCAA Director of Operations, Licensing, and Training, Najomo emphasized the authority’s dedication to fostering sector growth, safety, and service excellence. He stated, “With the support of the minister, we at the NCAA are committed to rebranding, reinventing, and rejuvenating the Nigerian aviation sector for international competitiveness, sustainable growth, and development.”

He highlighted that a sustainable regulatory framework built on collective engagement and strategic collaboration is essential for achieving operational excellence and enhanced productivity while maintaining safety standards. “This approach, aligned with local and international regulations, is a cornerstone of the NCAA’s strategic focus,” he added.

Najomo also acknowledged the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to address service deficiencies and poor passenger experiences, which stem from inadequate funding.

The theme of the summit, “Building a Viable Aviation Industry for National Economic Growth and Development,” aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among key stakeholders. Najomo pointed out that the summit’s objectives include advocating for adequate funding, sound financial management, and operational safety in Nigeria’s civil aviation sector.
