The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) has issued a disclaimer regarding circulating reports that its Chairman, Senator Bala Mohammed, has filed a legal action against the party in Gusau, Zamfara State. This statement was released shortly after the forum convened an expanded meeting.
Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, the Director General of the PDP-GF, emphasized that the claims about the legal suit seeking to compel the convening of the PDP’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting are false. He stated, “The Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum does not in any way, either by proxy or himself, have anything to do with the said suit.”
Agbo urged supporters and the public to disregard the reports, labeling them as dubious and malicious attempts to tarnish Governor Bala Mohammed’s reputation.
Reports had suggested that some party members, allegedly acting under the direction of the Bauchi State Governor, approached a Federal High Court in Gusau to seek an injunction to ensure the NEC meeting occurs as scheduled.
The PDP Governors had previously called for party members engaged in legal disputes against the party to withdraw their cases to foster genuine reconciliation. Recently, a Federal High Court in Abuja also ruled in favor of maintaining the current leadership of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) until December 2025, protecting the position of Acting National Chairman Amb. Umar Damagum.
