The Senate has summoned General Buba Marwa, Chairman of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), to appear before it regarding allegations against Deputy Senate Leader Senator Oyelola Ashiru of the APC from Kwara South.

A six-member panel has been established to investigate accusations made by the NDLEA, which claimed that Senator Ashiru made disparaging comments about the agency following his inability to prevent the arrest and trial of individuals allegedly involved in drug abuse at his residence.

The panel, chaired by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of the APGA representing Abia South, includes Senators Kaka Shehu (APC, Borno Central), Ede Dafinone (APC, Delta Central), Ireti Kingibe (LP, FCT), and Afolabi Shauibu (APC, Ogun Central).
