Nigerian music superstar Wizkid has achieved a remarkable milestone on Spotify, setting a new record for the biggest first-day streams by any song with his hit single “Piece of My Heart,” which garnered 1.01 million streams.

Released over the weekend, “Piece of My Heart” features American singer-songwriter Brent Faiyaz and has quickly become a sensation. According to Turntable Charts on X (formerly Twitter), the song reached the impressive 1.01 million milestone on its debut day.

The chart noted: “’Piece of My Heart’ with Brent Faiyaz recorded 1.01 million streams on its first day of release on Spotify Nigeria, setting a new record for the biggest first-day streams, surpassing @asakemusik and @wizkidayo’s ‘MMS’ (870K) and ‘IDK’ with @Zlatan_Ibile (626K).”

This achievement means Wizkid has broken his own record previously shared with Asake for their collaboration on the chart-topping single “MMS” from Asake’s “Lungu Boy” album. With this accomplishment, “Piece of My Heart” becomes Africa’s first song to surpass 1 million streams on its opening day on Spotify.

The track, which was released on Friday, serves as the lead single from Wizkid’s highly anticipated upcoming album, ‘Morayo’, set to drop on November 22. “Piece of My Heart” blends Wizkid’s signature Afrobeats style with Brent Faiyaz’s R&B flair, creating a captivating listening experience.
