OGUN STATE TO RECRUIT 1,000 TEACh INTERNS FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The Ogun State government is set to recruit an additional 1,000 interns under the Ogun Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (Ogun TEACh) initiative to address existing vacancies in public schools across the state.

This recruitment exercise is being coordinated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in collaboration with the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB).

In a statement released by the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, prospective applicants are required to possess at least a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or a B.A. (Edu)/B.Sc. (Ed)/B.Ed. with a Second Class Lower in relevant subjects or courses. For those coming from different disciplines, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from reputable universities is necessary. Additionally, applicants targeting technical colleges must hold a B.Sc. in Technical Education/B.Sc. in Engineering/B.Eng./HND in engineering fields.

Interested candidates can apply through the Ogun State Job Portal at www.teach.ogunstate.gov.ng between October 16 and November 6, 2024.

Successful applicants, referred to as TEACh Interns, will be deployed to Local Government Areas in need of their services and will receive a monthly stipend for two years. After this period, they will be evaluated based on various criteria, including expertise, commitment to duty, punctuality, respect for authority, and willingness to work in their assigned locations.

This recruitment marks the final batch of 5,000 interns promised by Governor Dapo Abiodun, with the first 4,000 now being offered permanent appointments and serving as permanent teachers.
