Vice President Kashim Shettima departed Abuja on Wednesday for a two-day bilateral engagement with Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prime Minister Tage Erlander. This visit aims to strengthen collaboration between Nigeria and Sweden across various sectors, including information and communication technology (ICT), innovation, education, digitalization, sustainable transport, mining, and agriculture.

According to a statement from Stanley Nkwocha, Special Assistant to the President for Media and Communications, Shettima will also meet with Norrsken, a Stockholm-based venture capital impact investor that recently launched Norrsken22, a $205 million tech investment fund focused on Africa.

Norrsken22, supported by over 30 prominent unicorn founders, aims to partner with exceptional entrepreneurs to nurture Africa’s next tech giants. During the meeting, Shettima will explore how Nigerian entrepreneurs can benefit from this fund, which is expected to allocate about 40% of its investments to Nigerian technology ventures.

Additionally, 12 Nigerian private sector companies engaged in business with Sweden will accompany Shettima as part of a private sector delegation.

While in Sweden, the Vice President plans to articulate Nigeria’s economic vision and the ongoing reforms under the Tinubu administration to foster a business-friendly environment for investors.
