Cardoso highlighted the resilience and influence of women, noting their significant contributions across various sectors. He also mentioned the recent steps taken by the CBN to support women, including the signing of a code for women entrepreneurs financing, which is aimed at expanding access to financial services for female entrepreneurs. This initiative, supported by partnerships with the Development Bank of Nigeria and the Bank of Industry, is expected to improve economic opportunities for women in the country.

Cardoso assured attendees that bridging the gender gap within the banking sector would remain a focus, affirming the CBN’s commitment to fostering gender inclusivity. He promised that, under his leadership, efforts would be made to support women entrepreneurs and enhance their participation in Nigeria’s financial system.
