As part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), international advertising company Smallgiant has extended substantial support to Little Saints Orphanage in Abule-Egba, Lagos, and hundreds of residents in the surrounding community to alleviate hunger amid rising economic hardships. The donation, which included food items and essential goods worth over N400,000, was part of an effort to address the needs of vulnerable groups.
Held last Sunday, the donation drive provided much-needed relief to the densely populated area. Items distributed included rice, noodles, macaroni, garri, toothpaste, detergents, and more to support the daily needs of the community. Little Saints Orphanage, which has been a shelter and educational center for orphans and abandoned children for over two decades, received a significant supply of foodstuffs.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Olawumi Shodiya, Smallgiant’s Team Lead, emphasized the company’s dedication to uplifting local communities, especially in addressing the increasing issue of food insecurity in Nigeria. “We recognize the importance of giving back, especially to the most vulnerable members of our society. Our donation to Little Saints Orphanage reflects our desire to help these children secure a brighter future,” Shodiya said, encouraging other organizations to contribute to such initiatives.
Smallgiant’s Hiring Manager, Mrs. Kemi Bola Oyediran, echoed these sentiments, reaffirming the company’s dedication to supporting orphanages and creating opportunities for vulnerable children. She also announced that Smallgiant, now operating in Africa, is offering job opportunities to eligible Nigerians who are willing to work online, helping them navigate the current economic challenges.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Bolanle Yusuf, a local trader, expressed her gratitude for the timely support. “Things have been tough, and the food pack I received means a lot to my family. We are thankful that this is coming at the right time,” she said.
