Veteran Nollywood actor Bob Manuel Udokwu has expressed heartfelt gratitude after being affectionately referred to as a “crush” by his fans over the years. During a recent appearance on The Morning Brief, he shared insights about his acting career, political journey, and the special bond he shares with his audience.

Udokwu reflected on the term “crush,” stating, “I see those who called me their crush as satisfied customers.” He acknowledged that a large fanbase is a reflection of his work’s impact, emphasizing the importance of delivering quality performances that resonate with viewers.

Recalling his time at the University of Port Harcourt, Udokwu shared that his talents made him a well-known figure on campus. “Everybody from the vice chancellor to the security at the gate knew me because I was very active,” he recalled, attributing part of his success to the opportunities provided by his role in the popular television series Checkmate.

The iconic actor highlighted his significant career achievements, including serving as the anchor for the Gulder Ultimate Search, which he described as “the first, biggest, and best reality television in the country.” He takes pride in holding the record for being the longest-serving anchor on the show.

Udokwu expressed his deep appreciation for the admiration he receives from fans. “When people express their satisfaction or admiration of my work as an actor, I feel humbled, happy, and thankful to God for the opportunity,” he said, showcasing his humility and dedication to his craft.
