Nigerian singer Darkoo recently shared a lighthearted response to fans playfully suggesting she should switch her sexuality. The playful banter began on October 9, 2024, when an X user named Najilal quoted a lyric from Darkoo’s song, humorously pointing out the tautology: “Lemme put my kids in you???” prompting a witty reaction from the singer.
One user humorously urged Darkoo, “My girl, collect better preek; leave les sh! t.” Darkoo responded, “Bring your babe, let’s see who fit knack pass,” which sent her followers into fits of laughter.
Darkoo, who is openly lesbian, has often expressed her sexuality through her music. In a previous interview on The Appointment Show with Layo in September 2024, she discussed coming out to her Nigerian parents. Despite their traditional views not aligning with her sexuality, Darkoo shared that they have accepted and love her for who she is.
“This is what makes me happy, and I feel whole. I don’t feel like I’m faking it or doing what I don’t want to do. This is me at the end of the day,” she explained. Darkoo emphasized her strong relationship with God and mentioned that while her parents may not agree with her lifestyle, their love remains unwavering. “I bring girls home, and my parents don’t mind. They love me for me,” she concluded, highlighting the importance of familial love and acceptance despite cultural differences.
