Former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Koroma, has praised the Stanley Uzochukwu Foundation for its outstanding efforts in human capital development, empowerment, and job creation, significantly benefiting Nigeria’s economy. The commendation was made during a grant ceremony where the foundation empowered 80 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with N40 million at The Delborough Lagos Hotel on October 5, 2023.

The Stanley Uzochukwu Foundation organized a mentorship and business masterclass for the selected 80 SMEs it had previously empowered. Koroma expressed admiration for the foundation and its founder, Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, stating, “I’m overwhelmed with what I have experienced, heard, and seen here today. It gives me hope in successful young Africans like Dr. Stanley.” He further emphasized that such private sector initiatives are essential for economic growth across African nations, noting that governments alone cannot drive progress without contributions from individuals and private organizations.

Koroma, who assisted in presenting the grants, highlighted that SMEs form the bedrock of every nation’s economy. He encouraged other African business leaders to follow this example in their respective countries.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Providus Bank Executive Director Adeoye Ojuroye, Blake Resort Managing Director/Chairman Chief Uzochukwu Akunedozi, Bank of Industry Managing Director Emmanuel Azuka Okofu, and Director-General of the Rochas Okorocha Foundation Miss Uchechi Rochas.
