Nigeria’s under-17 women’s football team, the Flamingos, have arrived in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, to participate in the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The team, which consists of 21 players, coaching staff, and representatives from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), will compete in the global tournament from October 16 to November 3.

Before the tournament kicks off, the Flamingos will engage in several warm-up matches during a two-week training camp to fine-tune their preparations. Drawn into Group A, Nigeria will face Ecuador, New Zealand, and the host nation, the Dominican Republic, with their first match scheduled against New Zealand on October 16.

The team has already settled into their training camp, working hard to build on their success from previous tournaments as they aim to make a strong impact on the world stage.
