The Lekki Astro Sports Club (LASC), a rapidly growing all-star sports club located in the Lekki Axis of Lagos, is actively seeking national and international sponsorship deals to enhance an exhilarating season filled with action, star-studded matchups, and unforgettable moments.
With over 100 diverse members aged between 35 and 60, including former Super Eagles players and notable ex-European professional players, LASC is set to kick off its league this month, culminating in a grand awards gala night in December 2024.
In a press release from the league management, they stated:
“LASC League has a long-standing connection with football globally, and we look forward to developing annually. This annual tournament aims to promote peace, love, and unity through football, encouraging fitness and healthy competition. The league will bring Nigerians and other parts of Africa together, fostering unity regardless of ethnic and religious differences.”
Emphasizing its Nigerian roots, the release noted that all members of the league are Nigerians, with some residing abroad, and all materials and equipment are sourced locally.
The club aims to partner with sponsors as it launches the 2024 league cup in October, leading up to the annual end-of-year awards night in December. The Lekki Astro League is structured as an intra-football tournament featuring four teams: Team Harrison Group, Team Smart FC, Team Success, and Team Las Pinas Luxury. The season will span six weeks, during which 12 matches will be played in a regular league format.
The management team expressed optimism about this season:
“The 3rd edition of the LASC league promises to be bigger and better than previous editions as we continue to improve the template established in our inaugural season. This year, we will be partnering with entirely new sponsors, making this edition more exciting, especially with an increase in our membership of competent individuals on the field.”
