Reports have emerged of heavy shooting in the Rumuepirikom community, the hometown of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, located in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
According to a local source, individuals earlier entered the community, warning residents to stay indoors and avoid participating in the ongoing polls. As electoral officers were about to arrive, armed bandits stormed the area, opening fire. The gunmen’s arrival caused panic, scaring people away from the election process.
Details of casualties remain unclear, but reports indicate that one person may have been affected during the chaos.
