LEBANON REPORTS ISRAELI AIR STRIKE CUTS OFF MAIN ROAD TO SYRIA

Lebanon has announced that an Israeli air strike on Friday targeted the Syrian border, severing the main international road that links the two countries. The strike affected the Masnaa area, a critical route for both civilians and humanitarian aid.

Transport Minister Ali Hamieh confirmed the incident, stating that the road, which serves as the primary humanitarian crossing for thousands of Lebanese entering Syria, has been cut off. Lebanon’s National News Agency also reported the air strike, noting the involvement of Israeli warplanes.

Israel has accused Hezbollah of using this route to transport weapons from Syria, with whom it maintains an alliance. Lebanon, which shares borders with both Israel and Syria, has been caught in the ongoing tensions, particularly with Hezbollah currently at war with Israel and the influx of Syrian refugees due to the ongoing conflict in Syria.
