The stage is set for the 2024 Annual General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), scheduled to take place on Friday in Asaba, Delta State. By Thursday evening, all delegates had arrived in the state capital, ready for the biggest gathering of football administrators and stakeholders in the country.
The Assembly is a key event where ideas are exchanged, and policies and regulations for the administration and organization of football in Nigeria for the coming year are formulated. It includes chairmen and secretaries from Football Associations in all 36 states and the FCT, along with representatives from the Nigeria Premier Football League, Nigeria National League, Nigeria Women Football League, and Nationwide League One. Referees, players’ unions, and coaches’ associations are also part of the Congress.
The NFF Executive Committee and Management, former NFF Presidents and General Secretaries, and special guests like the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, and FIFA Council member Amaju Melvin Pinnick will be present. Representatives from the West African Football Union (WAFU B) will also attend.
The Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, will open the event at Unity Hall, Delta State Government House, with several dignitaries, observers, and media representatives witnessing the ceremony.
