Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, engaged in discussions with European counterparts following Iran’s missile attack on Israel, as reported by state media on Wednesday.

According to the Iranian news agency IRNA, Araghchi communicated with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and officials from the UK, France, and other nations.

He stated, “The missile attack on Israel has now been completed,” but warned that if the “Zionist regime” retaliates, Iran’s response will be even more severe. Araghchi emphasized that while Iran does not seek escalation, it does not fear war.

The attack, executed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), involved the firing of 200 missiles at Israel on Tuesday evening. This action was framed as retaliation for the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, and an Iranian general. Initial assessments from the Israeli army indicated that around 180 missiles were fired during the assault, targeting three Israeli air bases and the headquarters of the Israeli foreign intelligence service, Mossad
