In a horrifying incident in the Evwreni Community of Delta State, a father named Samson was reported to have killed his toddler son and a nursing mother, identified as Princess, before injuring others in a chaotic scene that unfolded in the early hours of yesterday.
Sources indicate that the incident began around 2 a.m. when Samson, whose mental health had reportedly been deteriorating, brutally attacked his son, resulting in the child’s death. In the ensuing chaos, he fatally wounded Princess as she attempted to take her child to the toilet, and he also injured a male resident who tried to intervene.
Witnesses noted that Samson had been exhibiting strange behavior leading up to the tragedy, and there were plans to take him to a medical center for treatment prior to the incident.
After the attacks, an agitated mob apprehended Samson, administering their own form of justice by beating him to death. Eyewitnesses reported that they then set his body on fire alongside his motorcycle as a form of retribution.
Although attempts were made to contact the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright, there was no immediate response. However, a senior security source confirmed that by the time police arrived at the scene, Samson had already been lynched.
