The Coalition for Concerned Nigerians, the group behind the recent #EndBadGovernance protests in Osun State, has urged residents to take to the streets in a show of solidarity against the escalating hardships faced by citizens across the country.

In a press briefing held in Osogbo on Monday, the group’s coordinator, Adetunji Ajala, expressed disappointment with the Bola Tinubu-led administration for failing to heed the voices of the masses following last month’s protests. Ajala asserted that, instead of alleviating the suffering of the people, the government has exacerbated issues related to hunger and economic hardship.

He stated, “After the End Bad Governance 1.0, it is clear that the federal government is neither willing nor ready to listen to the demands of its citizens. The administration has ignored the urgent need to address the skyrocketing prices of fuel and the resulting hardships that many Nigerians are enduring.”

Ajala pointed out that the government’s decisions have led to rising costs for essential commodities, housing, and accommodation, all while the new minimum wage has yet to be implemented in many states. He emphasized the critical situation by stating that instead of celebrating independence, the day should be recognized as a “National Day of Survival.”

The coalition is calling for residents to join the peaceful protest to amplify their grievances, highlighting that it is imperative to make their voices heard in the face of ongoing adversity.
