The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a warning to Ndigbo, both within Nigeria and abroad, urging them to refrain from celebrating the country’s 64th Independence Day.

In a statement released on Monday, the group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, emphasized that Biafrans are not part of the celebration. He stated, “The Directorate of State (DOS) of the global family and movement of IPOB wishes to remind Biafrans at home and in the diaspora that the ban on the celebration of Nigeria’s annual October 1st Independence Day is still in force. As a Biafran, you should avoid any Nigeria Independence celebration globally.”

IPOB’s stance reflects its ongoing campaign for Biafran independence and aims to reinforce its members’ commitment to the cause.
