Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akure South, Ondo State, have praised the efforts of the Minister of State for Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, for empowering over 500,000 youths across Nigeria through skill acquisition programs.
During an address in Akure, Dr. Akinmolayan Fesobi, the chairman of Akure South, revealed that the party’s caucus conducted a nationwide assessment of Olawande’s performance over the past year and was highly impressed with his achievements.
Fesobi highlighted some of the minister’s key accomplishments, including:
- Launching the “One Youth, Two Skills” program, which has enhanced employment opportunities for 500,000 youths.
- Securing N10 billion in funding for youth development through partnerships with private sector organizations.
- Advocating policies that led to a 30% increase in youth representation in government.
- Establishing 20 Youth Development Centres across Nigeria to provide training and resources for young entrepreneurs.
- Collaborating with international organizations to create 100,000 job opportunities for Nigerian youths.
- Initiating the National Youth Mentorship Scheme, pairing 50,000 youths with industry experts to boost employment prospects.
Fesobi commended Olawande, who hails from Akure South, for exceeding expectations in his role and endorsed his continued leadership, recognizing his efforts as a beacon of hope for Nigerian youth.
