Israeli strikes targeted the Yemeni port city of Hodeida on Sunday, according to Huthi media reports. This follows a missile launch by the Iran-backed Huthi rebel group aimed at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport the previous day, as reported by AFP.

The Huthi-controlled Al-Masirah station claimed the strikes hit “the ports of Hodeida and Ras Issa,” along with two power stations, describing the events as “Israeli aggression on Hodeida.”

This marks only the second Israeli strike in Yemen; the first occurred in July when the Israeli Air Force (IAF) attacked Hodeida after a drone strike hit Tel Aviv, resulting in one fatality.

According to the Houthi-run health ministry, the recent attack resulted in four deaths and 29 injuries.

The Sunday strikes were reportedly more extensive than those in July and coincided with IAF operations in Lebanon, Gaza, and Syria, indicating a multifront conflict. The military stated that dozens of IAF aircraft, including fighter jets and reconnaissance planes, participated in the operations, which targeted military sites used by the Houthi regime in Hodeida and Ras Isa, approximately 1,800 kilometers from Israel.
