BARCELONA EYE GOALKEEPER REPLACEMENTS FOLLOWING TER STEGEN INJURY

With Marc Andre Ter Stegen sidelined for the remainder of the season due to injury, FC Barcelona is actively seeking free agents to fill the goalkeeping void. The club has reportedly approached both Claudio Bravo and Wojciech Szczesny as potential replacements.

Szczesny, the former Juventus goalkeeper who recently announced his retirement, appears to be a top priority for the Blaugrana, with indications that he is open to making a comeback. Meanwhile, Claudio Bravo has also been contacted, but Szczesny is currently viewed as the preferred option.

In the interim, backup goalkeeper Inaki Pena is expected to step in as the starter. Head coach Hansi Flick expressed confidence in Pena, stating that the team does not feel under pressure and trusts his capabilities, especially with young defenders in the lineup.

Pena’s first test will come on Wednesday when Barcelona faces Getafe at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Under Flick’s management, Barcelona has enjoyed a strong start in La Liga, securing all available points since his arrival, scoring 22 goals, and conceding only five in six matches, with one clean sheet.
